Wah Wah 45s have been jamming out venues such as The Jazz Cafe and Cargo, as well as monthly Sundays at The Vibe Bar, for many a year, and now it’s time for them to bring you an Easter extravaganza not to be forgotten!! As well as incredible DJs and live acts, look out for stunning visuals, bunny girls, giveaways, and perhaps even an Easter egg hunt!!? And there’s no work on Friday…..what are you waiting for??!!
THE PART-TIME HEROES SOUNDSYSTEM
The Part-Time Heroes released their debut album on Wah Wah 45s to much critial acclaim in late 2008. Gilles Peterson dubbed them a ‘jazzier Zero 7!’. There’s little jazz to be had though in their live soundsystem set, where PTH DJ Ross Wakefield delivers the toughest hip hop, funk, dubstep, dancehall and twisted house music and is joined by Toby Vane and Johnny Tarr on trumpet and sax respectively, plus their very own funky as hell, soulful chanteuse Laura Vane on vocals! When they performed this set on a Bank Holiday Sunday at The Vibe Bar in 2008 there was chaos and unbelievable scenes!! If you missed that, make sure you don’t miss this one, it’s set to be a cracker!!

Creating waves on both sides of the Atlantic are the transcendental sounds of modern day one man band, Joe Driscoll. His revolutionary take on music is without boundaries. Effortlessly fusing hip-hop, reggae, soul, folk and roots rock to create a completely original and unique sound; an innovator not only for the genre defying music he creates, but for the groundbreaking way in which he performs it.
A true renaissance man, Driscoll is a lone figure on stage and in the studio, yet is able to create the complete soundscape of a full band utilizing heavy vocal percussion, an array of instruments, a loop pedal, and a lot of imagination.

MC XANDER
London’s MC Xander has been described as a ‘sonic shaman’. A Rapper and beatboxer, this innovative artist uses nothing more than a mic, a pedal controlled sampler, an FX box and his own vocal chords to record, loop and edit the beats, sounds and words emanating from his mouth.
Having come out of London’s breakbeat scene, he has MC’d for DJs like Atomic Hooligan, Rennie Pilgrim and Eddy Temple Morris and although MCs ordinarily need DJs, Xander is not an ordinary MC. His loopstation technique to human beatbox allows him to create incredible layered compositions before adding his poetic wordflows.
The result is a combination of awesomely fat human beatbox, lush vocal harmonies and inspired rhymes.
Stranger Mag, after catching his Glastonbury performance reported that “His voice was a revelation” and The Sun newspaper called it “The best beatbox display I have ever seen”. He has also played shows in Russia, Japan, Thailand, Eastern Europe, Australia, Norway, Spain, Holland, India and Germany. Prepare to be entranced by this sonic shaman!
JOHN HENDICOTT
A true all rounder! John Hendicott, international DJ, member OneTaste collective and music producer John specialises in electronic hip hop, funk, and broken beats with a tendency to lean towards the big epic sound. Producer of the hit single Chip Diddy Chip with Chipmunk, Hendicott is has planned releases with Lady Lykez and PinkPunk.
