Off the back of our recent February show (our busiest and most successful to date) Five Missions More Live! is back with a bang! Our April line up is scarily exciting! Our palms sweated and our collective appetites whetted, 5MM is proud to present an evening of remarkable live music focusing on some really rather splendid young female artists. We’re as sure as sure can be that both Andreya Triana and Speech Debelle are destined for greatness in 2009, its simply a matter of time….

One of the first things to strike you about Speech Debelle is an astounding honesty to her music. Similar to label-mate Roots Manuva, Debelle’s music deals with some very personal demons. Her whisper-in-the-ear style flow combined with no-nonsense lyrical content see her walk an intriguing line of vulnerability and strength. A consummate professional on stage, her live 4 piece band proffer a swinging, offbeat almost jazz-folk sound, complementing Debelle’s tales.

A return visit from young Drey sees her in full artistic flow. Having just completed her debut album (produced by Bonobo), Drey is currently touring hard to promote it. Her previous collaborations read like a who’s who of modern jazz/hip-hop/soul - Flying Lotus, Aaron Jerome, TM Juke, RSL, Mr Scruff, Ty, kidkanevil, Bonobo Mizell Brothers and more. Accompanied on the night by a guitarist, Andreya will be giving us a sneak preview of songs from her forthcoming album - which, it’s fair to say, is garnering a fairly large amount of industry interest at present. She is a true talent and, like Speech, has a big 2009 ahead of her.
